The G.I. Joe Collectors' Club revealed its 12-inch Adventure Team exclusives for JoeCon '13, today. The Secret Mission to Dragon Island box set includes G.I. Both figures are super articulated and include additional accessories not depicted in the club's photos. G.I. JoeCon 2013 runs April 4 - April 7 at the JW Marriott in Indianapolis.

If you're a longtime toy collector, add this episode of What's On Joe Mind to your "must listen to" queue. Toy collector and author Mark Bellomo, who's penned The Ultimate Guide to G.I. Joe 1982-1994, Transformers: Identification and Price Guide, Totally Tubular '80s Toys and several other toy collecting guides, joins the WOJM crew in a thought provoking discussion about the influences of societal change on toy collecting. The guys discuss growing up collecting toys, what it takes to make it as a toy line today, and how the G.I. Joe brand must evolve in order to be embraced by future generations. The conversation starts at about 9:20 if you want to scrub right into it. Bellomo, whose collection spans several pop culture eras and many toy lines, was featured on Flophouse Films' Collectable Spectacle series, where he discussed his collecting habits and philosophy on the hobby.
And then there were three. Only three figures remain to be revealed in the G.I. Joe Collectors' Club's exclusive 3-3/4-inch JoeCon Nocturnal Fire set. Today's unveiling of the S.A.W.-Viper and Crimson Asp completes the Cobra Demolitions Team, which also includes Cobra Mortal, Cobra Letal and Frag-Viper. Repeater, Hit and Run, and Spearhead with Max of the Night Force team are the final holdouts on the G.I. Joe side. Interestingly, the Collectors' Club's preview page for the Nocturnal Fire set has space for only two more figure reveals, making us wonder if someone on the Joe team didn't make the cut? The Nocturnal Fire set is exclusive to G.I. JoeCon 2013 and includes 15 figures, of which 10 are unique. G.I. JoeCon 2013 runs April 4 - April 7 at the JW Marriott in Indianapolis.
Our feet on the floor in London at The Toy Fair are reporting Hasbro UK has confirmed there are no plans to bring G.I. Joe: Retaliation movie figures across the pond. While Hasbro's position remains unchanged from last year, there were hopes the film's delay and 3-D conversion (in part to appeal to international movie-goers) would entice the toy maker to extend their Retaliation lineup into the United Kingdom.

According to the brochure, a 15 figure Night Force set will be the 3-3/4-inch convention exclusive. The set includes a G.I. Joe team comprised of Charbroil, Hit & Run, Muskrat, Psyche-Out, Repeater and Spearhead with Max opposed by a Cobra demolitions team led by Cobra Mortal with Cobra Letal, Crimson Asp (female) and three Frag-Vipers and S.A.W. Vipers, respectability, by their side. As usual the figures will include accessories, stands and file cards. It's also worth noting that the brochure hints that this year's souvenir figures will include some type of glow-in-the-dark feature. G.I. JoeCon 2013 runs April 4 - April 7 at the JW Marriott in Indianapolis.
In the aftermath of "Deep Terror," the Joes regroup and reassess their next strike against Cobra. Meanwhile, Scarlett and the Joes find out that Snake Eyes is alive and has re-joined the Arashikage Clan.
If you didn't subscribe to the G.I. Joe Collectors' Figures Subscription Service (FSS) and were waiting for the club to offer figures individually, you're in luck (sort of). Hot Toys has unveiled some of their work-in-progress projects for 2013, giving us our first glimpse of their G.I. Joe: Retaliation Roadblock and Storm Shadow figures. Based on the likenesses of actors Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Byung-Hun Lee, respectively, the figures are mixed in with a hodgepodge of other licensed work and are a difficult to make out. However, a keen eye will spot the bald-headed, muscular figure with tattooed arms, armor-protected upper torso and camouflaged pants, and white-clad ninja figure equipped with a sword (good eye @EopieHerder) directly to the right of The Bat from The Dark Knight Rises. Release dates for Roadblock and Storm Shadow haven't been confirmed at this time, but those anxious to start their Hot Toys G.I. Joe: Retaliation collection can pre-order Snake Eyes, who went on sale last week.
The re-shoots that delayed the opening of G.I. Joe: Retaliation from June 2012 to March of this year were not focused around Channing Tatum's Duke character, according to CraveOnline. "That is a complete rumor," the film's producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura told Crave. In a brief interview with Di Bonaventura, Crave learned that Tatum's participation in the 3-day re-shoot lasted only 4-5 hours and that the final cut of the film is not much different than the original. G.I. Joe: Retaliation opens in theaters on March 29, 2013.
It's Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow versus a den of Vipers as Storm Shadow's assassination attempt on the Cobra Commander goes wrong. Meanwhile, Krake turns to Serpentor to help him build a new army.
We noticed a few good deals on G.I. Joe items at Amazon and wanted to pass them along. First, Amazon has its exclusive G.I. Joe: Retaliation sneak peek 4-pack in stock and the price has been taking a roller coaster ride for the last few days. We've seen it go from as low as $10 to as high as $40, so you'll want to keep an eye on it if you haven't picked one up yet. While none of the figures in the 4-pack are new, the stands and file cards are unique to the set. Amazon also has the 2-disc digital copy edition G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra DVD marked down to $5 (normally $34.98). The 2-disc set is about $2 less than the single disc version and includes a digital copy. A digital copy allows you to save a copy of the movie to your computer for easy viewing and transfer between your personal devices like an iPad or iPod and is a great way to take the movie with you on the go.
Cobra prepares to launch missiles at Moscow and Beijing, so G.I. Joe and the agents of Danger Girl join forces to stop them. But Cobra is aware that a traitor walks in their midst. Andy Hartnell and John Royle bring us the third installment in the Danger Girl/G.I. Joe crossover.
It appears Hot Toys' reveal of Snake Eyes, in their newly announced G.I. Joe: Retaliation line, was just an appetizer for a grander main course.
"After our launch of the Snake Eyes collectible last week, some fans may wish to have more collectibles of different characters from the upcoming G.I. Joe Retaliation movie. Good news for fans - we are going to launch the collectible figures of Joe Colton, Roadblock and Storm Shadow featuring the likeness of talents."
Noticeably missing for the list is Channing Tatum's Duke, but we suspect that may change. Start saving those pennies now!
Scarlett and Flint are heading toward their execution, thanks to the newest Cobra recruit, Agent Chase. Meanwhile, the Joes meet up with the Danger Girl team. Andy Hartnell and John Royle bring us the second chapter of the Danger Girl/G.I. Joe team-up.
