Comics: COBRA #5
Cobra #5 is another great issue in the Cobra series! Although it's not quite as fast-paced and action packed as the last issue, it's still a very good read. There are a lot of talking heads in this issue, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Writer Mike Costa keeps the dialogue sharp and to the point, with a sprinkle of character personality peppered in. It's a nice catch-up as to what's happened in the series thus far--from a certain point of view. We learn some new secrets and there are a couple of real jaw-dropping moments.
I love artist Antonio Fuso's work, but Werther Dell'Edera's art was a great choice for this issue and offered a nice visual change of pace. Dell'Edera should be on a monthly G.I. Joe book--or any monthly comic book for that matter.
Much to my surprise, Cobra is quickly becoming my favorite monthly G.I. Joe titles. With only three months to go before the Cobra Civil War ends, I have a feeling we're just getting started yet. The next three issues should be a lot of fun!
