Footloose to Make Appearance at G.I. JoeCon

The G.I. Joe Collectors' Club has confirmed that this year's membership incentive figure, Footloose, will be available for purchase during G.I. JoeCon. Like Dial-Tone last year, Footloose will come carded on classic explosion-backed art. In addition, Will Ryan, the voice actor who portrayed Footloose in the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero animated series will be on-hand as a guest and available to sign autographs.

G.I. JoeCon Registration Delayed Until Wednesday

The wait continues. G.I. Joe Collectors' Club members are receiving an e-mail update from club president Brian Savage about the status of registration for next month's G.I. JoeCon. According to Savage's e-mail, registration is delayed until Wednesday.

And Then There Was Horror Show

The G.I. Joe Collectors' Club revealed the final member in it's Operation: Bear Trap souvenir set, Horror Show. Horror Show--whose name is a phonetic similarity to the Russian word horosho meaning good or well--will include an assault rifle, RPG launcher with two rockets, a backpack and stand. Operation: Bear Trap is a G.I. JoeCon 2012 exclusive will include 15 figures from the opposing Oktober Guard and Iron Grenadier factions. G.I. New Comrade added to the Operation: Bear Trap Squad

The G.I. Joe Collectors' Club has revealed another figure from its G.I. JoeCon 2012 Operation: Bear Trap souvenir figure set. This time it's Oktober Guard General Iron Bear. The next to last reveal in the convention exclusive set, General Iron Bear includes a stand, removable officers hat, baton, assault rifle with removable drum, and a combat knife. G.I. G.I. JoeCon 2012 Box Set to Include Voltar

We're filing this one under if you told us it would happen, we still wouldn't believe you. The G.I. Joe Collectors' Club has revealed General Voltar as part of its G.I. JoeCon 2012 Operation: Bear Trap souvenir figure set. The butt of many jokes--thanks in part to his fuchsia-colored unitard--Voltar has gained a cult following among collectors from simply being of the most ridiculous characters ever created in the A Real American Hero era. The 2012 JoeCon set figure includes a stand, 2 assault rifles, a sword and a removable helmet, however and unfortunately, a condor is not included. G.I. G.I. JoeCon 2012 Souvenir Figure Set Pits Oktober Guard vs. Iron Grenadiers

The secret's out! This year's G.I. JoeCon exclusive souvenir figure set, Operation: Bear Trap, will feature the Oktober Guard pitted against Destro's Iron Grenadiers. The box set will include 15 figures, comprised of six unique Oktober Guard members and four unique Iron Grenadiers, complete with weapons and accessories. The G.I. Joe Collectors' Club has even released a preview of the first Iron Grenadier team member, the Iron Grenadier Elite Trooper. Be sure to keep an eye on the the club's G.I. G.I JoeCon 2012 Exclusive Box Set Daina Revealed

After a not subtle teaser, earlier this month, revealing the theme for this year's G.I. JoeCon box set, the G.I. Joe Collectors' Club has revealed photos of the first figure from the Oktober Guard set, Daina. Daina is based on the 25th Anniversary style, includes a sniper rifle, pistol and stand, and features a new headsculpt with removable pilots cowl. G.I. Theme for G.I JoeCon 2012 Exclusive Box Set Confirmed

When the G.I. Joe Collectors' Club hints that it's going to feel like Oktober during this June's G.I. JoeCon, it can only mean one thing; the theme for this years 3-3/4-inch convention exclusive box set is the Oktober Guard.  If the pun doesn't convince you, the teaser illustration of comrade Daina all but confirms it. According to the club, this year's convention brochure, guest list and exclusives reveals are being finalized and should be announced over the next month. G.I. G.I. JoeCon 2012 Venue and Date Change Announced

The G.I. Joe Collector's Club has announced a venue and date change for G.I. JoeCon 2012, moving the annual meetup a week back (June 28 - July 1) to the Hilton New Orleans Riverside.

"Please note that due to circumstances beyond our control with the anticipated venue for the convention, the dates of GIJoeCon will now be June 28-July 1 at a new venue, the Hilton New Orleans Riverside. We apologize for any problems or issues this change of date has caused. We hope to see you all in New Orleans June 28-July 1 at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside. Convention (attending and non-attending) registrations will start sometime in February. Again we apologize for any problems or issues this change of date has caused."

G.I. JoeCon 2012 Confirmed for New Orleans

The G.I. Joe Collectors' Club has confirmed New Orleans as the location for it's G.I. JoeCon 2012 convention. The official dates run June 21-24 with hotel details to follow. New Orleans has been the primary filming location of the live-action G.I. Joe movie sequel titled G.I. Joe: Retaliation. G.I. Joe: Retaliation is scheduled for release on June 29, 2012.
