A No Kwinn Situation

What a difference a few months makes. During our New York Comic Con 2011 coverage, we uncovered Hasbro's plan to offer Inuit mercenary Kwinn as their G.I. Joe exclusive figure for New York Comic Con 2012. We've now learned that Hasbro will not be attending New York Comic Con 2012, leaving Kwinn unaccounted for, for the time being. We're hoping G.I. JoeCon 2012 brings some resolution to this "no Kwinn situation."

New York Comic Con 2011: It's A Wrap

New York Comic Con 2011 is a wrap. Our photo gallery from the show is now live and can also be seen on our Flickr photostream. Additionally, we've added a pair of videos to our YouTube channel and a number of informational tidbits on our Twitter stream. Hasbro's debut at New York Comic Con saw the announcement of two, seven-figure packs, gave us a look at Topside--the third figure in the G.I. Joe Collectors' Club subscription service--and revealed intel that Kwinn is scheduled to be New York Comic Con's G.I. Joe exclusive, next year. If this year's news wasn't exciting enough, Hasbro's promise of a return next year,with a G.I. Joe exclusive, is sure to make New York Comic Con a destination on a lot of G.I. Joe collectors' comic-convention calendar.

Here's a closer look at the three figures announced as part of the G.I. Joe Collectors' Club subscription service. Quarrel, Topside and the Nano B.A.T. are on display at Hasbro's Booth and are listed as being available in the winter of 2011/2012.

New York Comic Con Preview Night Photos

We've posted our first photo gallery from New York Comic Con. Unfortunately, we didn't spot any member of the Hasbro G.I. Joe team to gather intel, but we did get a lot of close-up shots of the new items on display at their booth, the highlight of which are the Slaughter's Marauders and Dreadnoks seven-packs. The two, seven-packs are exclusive to Big Bad Toy Store and now available for pre-order, priced $89.99 for the pair or $49.99 each. We also made sure to snap photos of the next few waves of 30th Anniversary figures, as a point of reference for any potential changes (or omissions) in accessories.

Our New York Comic Con Coverage Begins Tonight

New York Comic Con kicks off tonight with a special preview night sneak peek starting at 4 p.m. EDT. We'll be on the showroom floor covering all the G.I. Hasbro Announces New York Comic Con Debut

In addition to their regular stops at Toy Fair, G.I. JoeCon and San Diego Comic-Con, Hasbro's G.I. Joe team will be making their debut at this year's New York Comic Con. Held at the Javits Convention Center in New York City, the New York Comic Con kicks off Thursday, October 13--with a special preview night--and runs through Sunday, October 16. Hasbro will be the title sponsor of the con's "NYCC Kids!"events and will be located at booth 302 on the showroom floor.
